The following list was compiled by DoGood Chattanooga, a group of great folks on a mission to make Chattanooga more dog friendly. Good on them!!

Before you visit an establishment or hotel, please contact them and verify that they are still dog-friendly and available, as policies and management change frequently.

Dog Friendly Restaurants in the Downtown/Southside areas of Chattanooga:

  • Southside of Chattanooga (near the Choo Choo) these restaurants are dog friendly:

  • Blacksmith’s Bistro in St. Elmo (dog lovers, and they have a wonderful courtyard area—good prices and great food and drinks)

  • The Terminal, Market Street, just south of the Choo Choo on the same side of Market (deck is dog friendly – great food, great prices and a microbrewery, so they have great beer)

  • Blue Orleans (in the Clark Building on Market across from the Choo Choo) – their courtyard is covered and dog friendly, so it is a good place to take dogs if it rains

 Downtown:

  • Market Street Tavern, Market Street by Miller Plaza

  • Mellow Mushroom, Broad Street near the Bijou Theatre

  • Easy Bistro, Broad Street near the Bijou Theatre

  • Greyfriar’s Coffee, Broad Street, near Lupi’s Pizza

  • Blue Plate (near Ross’ Landing)

  • The Hair of the Dog (corner of Market and 4th Street)

  • The Ice Cream Show at the base of the Walnut Street Bridge near the Hunter Museum

 Northshore area:

  • Greenlife Grocery (Manufacturers Rd) – the best place to take dogs – fantastic food!

  • Food Works (Manufacturers Rd across from Renaissance Park)

  • Taco Mamacita (N Market St in plaza where Durty Nellie’s used to be)

  • Pisa Pizza (on River Street near Coolidge Park)

  • Aretha Frankensteins – on Tremont Street (this is the coolest place in Chattanooga – Rachel Ray did a show there, and they have the best pancakes in the world)

  • Subway – Frazier Ave

  • Terra Nostra (beside Bone Appetit and Groomingdales on Frazier Ave)

  • Quiznos and Stone Cup on Frazier Avenue

  • Mud Pie (Frazier Ave) lower deck only
